When the prophet migrated to Madinah, everyone wished that the prophet would stay with them. The first thing the prophet was thinking about is building a masjid for Muslims to do Muslim prayers. The prophet said that: Allah commanded the prophet’s camel to stop at The place. This place belonged to two orphan brothers ( Suhail and Sahl). it contains trees and graves of polytheists. The prophet Muhammad built the Masjid al-nabawi facing Jerusalem which was the Qibla for Muslims at that time.
The prophet burrowed the ground which belonged to the two brothers and used palm leaves as pieces for the rooftop and boxes of palm trees. The mosque has three entrances. Behind the masjid, prophet Muhammad specifies a region for poor companions to spend their nights. then, He ordered to build houses for his wives Aisha and Sauda.
Masjid al-Nabawi has great benefits for all Muslims.
it is the second–biggest masjid in the world after the al-Haram mosque. at the mosque, the companions learn the holy Quran and gain complete knowledge of Quranic teachings. They worked to spread the message of Allah and help each other.
The virtue of praying in the Prophet’s Mosque
A hadith inscribed in the mosque which says “A prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers anywhere else, except for Masjid al-Haram.”
Prophet (PBUH) once said; “Whoever performs forty salah in my masjid, not missing one salah in the masjid, for him is granted exemption from the fire of Hell, and exemption from punishment and he shall remain free of hypocrisy.”
